Women are making an incredible impact in the construction industry, breaking barriers and shaping the future of the built environment. At Parkway, we’re proud to celebrate the talented women on our team who bring leadership, expertise, and passion to every project. This Women in Construction Week, we’re highlighting their stories, experiences, and the advice they have for the next generation of women in the field.
Drea Guevara-Vega, Project Manager

My experience in construction has been a journey! I have grown and learned so much since I’ve entered the field. There have been so many great people that have met on the road to influence me in the best ways.
I enjoy being the person responsible for the end result. Watching a project go from dirt to keys successfully is so gratifying. Delivering a quality product to a client that they are happy with and watching people occupy and enjoy the space we have created fills me with pride. For any woman entering the field I would say, make sure you join a company that is employee oriented and supports your career path. Also, don’t be afraid to speak up on things that are important to you. If you are working for the right company, they will listen!
Parkway overall has been great at hiring the right people who have contributed towards my growth. I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing Superintendents who have helped expand my construction knowledge and leadership who has provided the resources needed to succeed.
I’m involved with NAWIC, an organization focused on strengthening the success of women in the field of construction. Fourteen percent of construction workers are women! It’s important that we continue to support the ladies in the field and offer training and mentorship.
Zannah Pacheco, Scheduler
I’ve had a passion for the construction industry from a young age, which led me to pursue a degree in Construction Management—one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of holding various roles, including Project Engineer, Superintendent, and currently, Scheduler. The construction industry excites me due to the diverse opportunities it offers for growth and innovation. I take great pride in witnessing a project progress from the ground up and knowing that I contributed to the success of a team that brought a remarkable building to life.
