Aerospace Compliance & Standards

Aerospace and defense construction demands strict adherence to regulatory frameworks, safety codes, and performance standards. Parkway Construction delivers aerospace facilities engineered for full compliance, risk mitigation, and operational reliability across mission-critical environments.

NFPA 409 Aircraft Hangar Compliance
Our team designs and constructs aircraft hangars in alignment with NFPA 409 aircraft hangar compliance requirements, integrating fire protection strategies specific to aviation risk profiles. We coordinate closely with fire marshals, engineers, and system designers to ensure hangar classifications, drainage systems, foam suppression, and containment strategies meet code.

AFF & Fire Suppression Systems Integration
We oversee Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFF) systems integration, pre-action fire suppression systems, and specialty fire protection solutions required for aircraft hangars, MRO facilities, and high-value aerospace assets. Every system is installed and tested to support life safety, asset protection, and regulatory approval.

ITAR-Compliant Construction Protocols
Parkway executes ITAR-compliant construction environments with secure site logistics, access controls, documentation controls, and workforce screening procedures. We understand the sensitivity of controlled technical data and implement construction processes that protect national security interests.

DCMA-Compliant Facilities
For government and defense contractors, we deliver DCMA-compliant facilities that support audit readiness, quality assurance standards, and contract performance requirements. Our documentation, scheduling, and quality control processes align with federal oversight expectations.

Grounding & Electrostatic Compliance (ESD Control)
Aerospace manufacturing and assembly environments require precision environmental controls. We install grounding systems, electrostatic discharge (ESD) compliant flooring, and bonding strategies that protect sensitive avionics, electronics, and defense equipment from static discharge risks.

Clean Room Construction & ISO Classifications
For advanced aerospace manufacturing and component fabrication, we construct clean rooms with HEPA filtration systems designed to meet applicable ISO classifications. Our clean room buildouts incorporate environmental control systems, humidity regulation, pressurization strategies, and contamination control to support precision production.

Aerospace Construction FAQs

What is NFPA 409 aircraft hangar compliance?
NFPA 409 is the fire protection standard that governs aircraft hangar construction. It outlines requirements for hangar classifications, fire suppression systems, foam systems (including AFF systems), drainage, and containment strategies. Aerospace construction projects must meet NFPA 409 aircraft hangar compliance to ensure life safety, asset protection, and approval from local fire authorities and regulatory agencies.
Aerospace construction involves significantly higher levels of regulatory oversight, security, environmental control, and technical precision than typical industrial construction. Projects often require ITAR-compliant construction protocols, FOD-controlled construction practices, ESD flooring installation, grounding and electrostatic compliance, and specialized environmental control systems. Aerospace facilities are typically mission-critical, meaning downtime, contamination, or non-compliance can have major operational and national security impacts.
ITAR-compliant construction refers to building environments that protect controlled technical information under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). This includes secure access controls, restricted site logistics, documentation management procedures, and workforce screening to ensure sensitive defense-related information and materials are protected throughout the construction process.
Yes. Parkway Construction provides SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) construction for defense contractors, aerospace manufacturers, and government clients. SCIF construction requires strict adherence to federal security guidelines, specialized materials, sound attenuation strategies, secure access systems, and controlled build environments to meet classified information protection standards.
MRO facility construction involves building Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul environments for aircraft and aerospace components. These facilities require large clear spans, high-load structural design, integrated crane systems, environmental controls, and compliance with aviation safety and fire protection standards.
Mission-critical aerospace projects require disciplined project management, phased construction planning, expedited aerospace construction schedules, and close coordination with engineers, compliance authorities, and client stakeholders. Parkway Construction uses structured scheduling, risk mitigation planning, and quality control systems to deliver secure aerospace facilities without compromising safety or regulatory requirements.
