Honoring the Past. Building the Future. Parkway C&A Celebrates 40 Years.

LEWISVILLE, TX – Parkway C&A, LP is celebrating its 40th year in business as a leader in the commercial construction, architecture, and design-build industry.

Opening its doors on October 12, 1981, founder John Elmer first broke ground in the retail market with early investor Warren Clark Development. Today, Parkway boasts over 5,000 projects in its portfolio across an array of industries, including restaurant, entertainment, healthcare, automotive, industrial, hospitality, worship, education, self-storage, amenity centers, and defense.

Parkway has a nationwide presence across 49 states, specializing in general contracting, architecture, design-build, site investigations, value engineering, permitting, and pre-construction services. The company’s core focus on partnering with a client from concept to completion – a business model that consistently leads to repeat business – has translated into four decades of growth and longevity.

Since 2016, Parkway has grown 31.7 percent per year and is routinely recognized as a top 400 contractor in the U.S. by revenue. Engineering News-Record named Parkway the 252nd Top Contractor in 2020.

“Our mission has always been to make our client’s project less burdensome, offering a fully integrated services platform that helps our customers through the development cycle,” said Parkway President and CEO Rick Wojciechowski.

Parkway officially entered the design-build space, offering in-house architecture services in 2008.

“When we brought those two elements together – both the architecture and construction – we took a lot of clutter out of the process,” said Wojciechowski.

“When the design and build units can work together on the same team and make decisions prior to actually doing them while under construction, it is a great cost and time-savings, which ends up being a much better product for the customer.”

With over 25 in-house architects, Parkway has developed long-standing relationships with national clients, many over a decade or longer. Those deep relationships stem from Parkway’s expertise in building and expanding clients’ regional and national programs.

While consistent growth plays a starring role in the Parkway story, – one highlight being a $400 million banner year in 2019 – founding principles and values are the real protagonist.

Parkway’s mission statement is “to deliver excellent projects and develop excellent people”. Their values of integrity, trust, and respect are intricately woven into the company culture.

“Our commitment to building excellent projects for our customers and attracting and growing excellent people is why we are in business. It’s why Parkway exists,” said Wojciechowski.

“Our people have passion and heart to serve. They serve our customers and one another. We honor John Elmer’s founding principles with people who have character and competency. It’s who you are and what you do; you’ve got to have both. Because of that, we’ve produced 40 years of excellent projects for our customers and will carry that methodology forward into the future.”
